BLOOMINGTON – On June 5th individuals in Bloomington-Normal will come together to discuss ways to build democracy at the local level.
The event is titled “Come Together for Democracy,” which will take place Sunday, June 5th, 4 pm, at the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Bloomington.
A number of representatives from different organizations came together, led by Sonny Garcia, to organize the event. On the day of the event, local organizations will lead off by describing the work they do and how people can become involved in that work. Participants will then break into small groups to discuss how they view the meaning of democracy and corporate power and how we can build democracy locally. All participating groups will have tables so that participants can take away information and have the opportunity to get involved.
For more information on the event, visit the Come Together for Democracy Facebook page.
