On Sunday, September 11th, Bloomington-Citizens for Peace and Justice hosted a forum on People’s Priorities, discussing what our taxpayer money should be funding instead of war. 40 people attended the forum and participated in the discussion that followed.
Video of the panelist presentations can found be found below, organized as follows: Terra Brockman of the Land Connection speaks on the environment (Part 1), Sonny Garcia of Illinois People’s Action/Latinos United for Change speaks on jobs (Part 2 and 3), Dr. David Gill of Physicians for a National Health Program speaks on Single-Payer/Medicare for All (Parts 4 and 5), and Dr. Susan Hildebrandt, professor of foreign language education at Illinois State University speaks on education (Parts 6 and 7).
BNCPJ will be brainstorming a People’s Priorities campaign at its next meeting, Sunday, October 2nd, 4 pm, at the Unitarian-Universalist Church (1613 E. Emerson St., Bloomington).
