The Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington-Normal is hosting an educational event on fracking on Tuesday, October 9th, 7 pm. The church is located at 1613 E. Emerson, Bloomington.
The church will screen “Split Estate,” an award winning documentary on the development of fracking in the Rocky Mountain States, and then lead a community discussion.
This event is timely because the Land Use Committee of the McLean County Board has received requests from the oil and gas industry to replace “special use” permitting with an easier permitting process that does not allow a public voice during the review of a permit.
