A Bike BloNo night ride attracted almost 40 people on November 1st, bringing together a diverse group of bicycling enthusiasts to promote biking safety at night.
The ride was organized to promote public awareness that bicyclists are on city streets both day and night, and in all seasons. According to event organizer, Mike McCurdy, this is especially important with the end of daylight savings time when darkness descends earlier and more bicyclists will be riding at night.
Announced at Night Ride, there will be a Common Action Free School class, with speaker Mike McCurdy, on how to prepare for the winter biking season. The class will be on Saturday, November 3rd, 2 pm at the Coffeehouse in Uptown Normal (114 E. Beaufort St., Normal).
